Abstract
A black matrix layeris formed on a counter substratealong the direction where a scanning lineextends, so that it continuously covers the upper parts of a common electrode line, the scanning line, a space between the common electrode lineand the scanning line, a TFT, a space between the scanning lineand a common electrode line, and the common electrode line, and in the portion opposed to the signal line, the black matrix layer is eliminated.
