Abstract
A piston ring grinding device () includes a base portion () which is provided with spaced collars () which receive an axle (). A grinding wheel () having an abrasive surface () is carried by the axle (), and a handle assembly () is provided for rotation of the axle () and the grinding wheel (). The axle () may be received in either the first collar () or the second collar () for selective right hand or left hand operation of the device (). An adjustable locator () is Y-shaped having an elongate body () with a channel () therein and branches () which provide contact points () for the piston ring (R). Once the piston ring (R) is engaging the contact points (), and thereby properly positioned on the base portion (), a thumbscrew () may be tightened to attach the locators () to the base portion (), and the ends of the piston ring (R) are ready to be ground.
