Abstract
A mounting system () for supporting a ceiling fan assembly () of the type having a motor, motor housing (), a plurality of blades () and a downrod () to a support surface C, which includes a mounting plate () coupled to a support surface C, a mounting bar () coupled to the mounting plate (), a suspending hangar () coupled to the downrod (), a canopy () journalled to the downrod (), and screws which couple the canopy () to the mounting plate (). The screws () permits adjustable movement of the canopy () between a lower position wherein the majority of the weight of the ceiling fan assembly () is supported by the mounting bar () through the suspending hangar () and an upper position wherein the majority of the weight of the ceiling fan assembly () is supported by the mounting plate () through the canopy ().
