Abstract

The present invention relates to a transport device for transporting sheets () in a plant comprising a high-speed printer which is provided for printing the sheets () or a continuous web which is cut to sheets (). The transport device includes at least one vacuum means () having at least one vacuum opening () and at least one conveyor belt () with vacuum holes () which communicates with the vacuum opening (), and a vacuum generating device (VA) for generating a vacuum in the vacuum opening () of the vacuum means () and in the vacuum holes () of the conveyor belt () such that said conveyor belt () can engage and transport the sheets (). The vacuum generating device comprises a compressor-air generating device () from which compressed air is fed or supplied to at least one ejector () such that a jet (D) of compressed air therein generates a vacuum in the vacuum openings () in the vacuum means () and the vacuum holes () in the conveyor belts (). The ejector () is located in a vacuum means (and/or) around which the conveyor belt () runs.
