Abstract

The present invention provides optical disc playback apparatus (DVD-Universal players) which can play back all ATSs and VTSs. The optical disc playback apparatus according to the present invention comprises reading means for reading audio/video data, audio/video sequence information, object position information, title set position information and disc management information from an optical disc, to play back the data, control means for controlling the reading means, storage meanswhich, when the disc is recognized as a DVD-Audio disc, contain an AMG, further search a VMGand when there is a VMG, simultaneously contain also the VMG, and external input receiving means for receiving instructions of users from outside, for selecting one of the AMGand the VMG
