Abstract
In a fuel tank level sensorfor measuring a remaining amount of fuel in accordance with a resistance value which is varied by moving a rheostatutilizing a floatthat vertically moves according to increase and decrease of the fuel in a fuel tank, change in resistance value of the rheostatincludes a linear range in which the resistance value linearly varies with the increase and decrease of the fuel, and a non-linear range in which the resistance value discontinuously varies under full-tank conditions where the fuel tank is substantially filled up with the fuel. Even upon undesirable increase of the resistance value of the rheostatas a result of deposition of sulfides, the sensorcan always detect accurately that the fuel tankis filled up.
