Abstract
Before a newly loaded roll of recording paper is fed out from the paper magazine, a recording paper roll is put in a paper magazine, a pre-cut detection lever () pushes an actuation strip of a pre-cut detection switch () to turn on the pre-cut detection switch. As the recording paper is first fed out from the paper magazine, the pre-cut detection lever is pushed by a leading end of the recording paper, to rotate to an erected position, thereby turning off the pre-cut detection switch. Thereafter, a pre-cutting process is effected on the recording paper. A holding lever () holds the pre-cut detection lever at the erected position, so the pre-cut detection switch is maintained off, once the recording paper is fed out from the paper magazine, even if the recording paper is rewound into the paper magazine. So long as the pre-cut detection switch is off, the printer does not execute the pre-cutting process again. When the recording paper roll or a spool of the roll is removed from the paper magazine, a reset lever pushes up the holding lever to release the pre-cut detection lever. As a result, the pre-cut detection lever rotates to push the actuation strip, and thereby turn on the pre-cut detection switch.
