Abstract

A method is provided for producing double labels (). Two large labels () of different size, each of the labels being detachably applied to respective carriers () by their adhesive surfaces (), are respectively detached from their carriers (), and are adhered together by their facing adhesive surfaces (). The two labels () are dimensioned in such a way that, for the double label, a free end () of the adhesive surface of one label () protrudes beyond the other label (). A device for producing such double labels () comprises a dispenser () for detaching the labels () from their carriers () and for assembling the labels and adhering them together. The dispenser () has parallel dispensing edges (). The double label () has a fixed element, which can be written or printed on, and a free, flexible element () for fixing the double label () to an object to be labeled or to another carrier strip. The double label () enables high-quality goods, such as jewelry or cosmetic products, to be labeled in a very attractive and careful manner.
