Abstract
A multi-fingered hand device has a reduced number of actuators as a drive source for bending and extending finger mechanisms and is capable of smoothly bending and extending the finger mechanisms to work on an object, e.g., to grip an object. Finger mechanismsare biased to an extended position by springs. A wireextending from finger mechanismsand a wireextending from the finger mechanisms 2are trained respectively around pulleys, and a wireextending from the finger mechanismis trained around a pulleyand drawn into an arm. The pulleysare rotatably held by a pulley holderwhich is angularly movable about a support shaftand movable toward the arm. An actuator disposed in the armpulls the wireor releases the wireto bend or extend the finger mechanismsaltogether. Even if any of the finger mechanismsabut against an object and fail to move when they are being bent or extended, the other finger mechanisms can be bent or extended.
