Abstract
A sealing device for a shaft () or rod which is movably disposed in a guide arranged between a high-pressure space () and a low-pressure area () of a pressure-resistant housing () bounding the high-pressure space (), and which is surrounded by a sealing ring (), is further developed such that the sealing ring () is partially deformed by means of a deformable pressure ring () supported under pressure at the outer circumference and circumferentially rests against the shaft () or the rod or almost rests against the shaft () or the rod.
