Abstract
The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for determining a fuel wall film mass in an internal combustion engine () having intake manifold injection. The method and arrangement provide a precise as possible transition compensation also for the case wherein the fuel injection into the open inlet valve () of a cylinder () takes place. The fuel wall film mass is determined starting from a fuel injection which takes place completely in advance of opening of the inlet valve () of the cylinder () of the internal combustion engine () into the intake manifold (). The value so determined for the fuel wall film mass is corrected in dependence upon the ratio between the fuel mass, which is injected via the open inlet valve () into the combustion chamber () of the cylinder (), and the total injected fuel mass.
