Abstract
The invention relates to a treatment compartment () for treating histological samples with treating agents (″). The treatment compartment () comprises a housing () with an inlet and outlet (') for the treating agents (″), a rotatable retaining device () which receives the samples and a closable access opening () on the front (). The aim of the invention is to improve a treatment compartment () of the above kind in such a way that it has a compact design and is easily accessible without the risk of the treating agents (″) emerging. According to the invention, the housing () is designed and mounted in such a manner and at least the lower zone of the front () is provided with such a rim () that a liquid level () of the treating agents (″) can be formed even when the access opening () is open, and that the sample is held in the retaining device () in such a way that it can be moved, when the retaining device rotates, through the treating agents (″) forming the liquid level ().
