Abstract

A manifold assembly () for a medical waste collection device () is provided. The manifold assembly () comprises a housing () and a cap () connected to the housing () by a snap-fit connection (). The housing () includes a bottom () and a wall () extending upwardly therefrom about an axis (). A support structure () is disposed on the bottom () of the housing () to support a plurality of filters (). The support structure () includes spaced inner () and outer () rings. The support structure () further includes a plurality of inner spokes () extending radially between the axis () and the inner ring () and a plurality of outer spokes () extending radially between the inner ring () and the outer ring (). The rings () and spokes () have upper surfaces that are coplanar to define a filter support surface (). The plurality of filters () are supported by the filter support surface () to filter material from fluid entering the manifold assembly ().
