Abstract
A brushless motorcomprises a rotorhaving a magnetand a statorhaving a stator core. The stator corehas teethprovided at the front ends thereof with auxiliary grooves to realize a pseudo-multi-slot arrangement. The magnethas an axial length of Lwhile the stator corehas an axial length of L, Lbeing greater than L(L>L). The stator coreis provided at the opposite ends thereof with respective overhanging portionsthat are not vis-à-vis the magnet. As a result, the magnetic flux is prevented from flowing into the stator corethrough the axial end facesthereof. In other words, the magnetic flux mostly flows into the stator corethrough the front ends of the teeth. As a result, the pseudo-multi-slot effect produced by the auxiliary grooves is efficiently boosted to reduce cogging and other problems.
