Abstract
A hydraulic damper cylinderis provided for an electromagnetic actuated internal combustion engine cylinder valve. The damper includes a pistonslidably mounted within the damper cylinder. The pistonbifurcates the cylinderinto a first control volumeand a second control volume. The first and second control volumes are fluidly connected by an inboard flow path. Along the extreme ends of travel, the flow pathis blocked by the pistonand damping occurs through fluid transfer through an outboard flow path
