A delivery apparatus for folding machines having a folding apparatus FA and a delivery apparatus DA, comprising a delivery flyfor receiving signatures S, Sand Sfolded by the folding apparatus FA, a conveyor C for operating the delivery flyat a predetermined speed ratio and receiving the signatures S, Sand Sfrom the delivery fly, a gear drivehaving a plurality of gear ratios provided between the folding apparatus FA and the delivery flyfor transmitting power to the delivery fly, and changeover meanscapable of selectively changing over the gear ratio of the gear drive, so that the operating speed of the delivery flycan be set to a plurality of speed steps with respect to the operating speed of the folding apparatus FA.
