Abstract
An electrical conductor winding () comprises a plurality of laminates of electrical insulation (). Each laminate of electrical insulation () has a slot () on one surface (). Each laminate of electrical insulation () has an electrical conductor () arranged in the slot (). An electrical connector () connects the electrical conductor () in one laminate of electrical insulation () with the electrical conductor () in an adjacent laminate of electrical insulation (). The laminates of electrical insulation () are arranged such that the surface () of one laminate of electrical insulation () abuts and is bonded to the surface () of an adjacent laminate of electrical insulation (). The laminates of electrical insulation () comprise a glass-ceramic material. The electrical conductor windings allow active magnetic bearings, electric motors and electric generators to be used at temperatures up to 500° C. for example in gas turbine engines.
