Abstract
A sewing machine with a needle thread cassette, wherein a cassette mount () is reduced in size. The cassette mount () including a thread take-up lever travel region is formed in the form of a vertical groove in the arm head of the sewing machine. A needle thread cassette () having a thread bobbin () vertically received therein is removably mounted on the cassette mount () vertically from above. With a thread take-up lever () stopped in a position corresponding to a needle top stop position, the needle thread cassette () is mounted on the cassette mount (), whereby the thread is engaged with the thread guard of the thread take-up lever () and a thread tension regulator ().
