Abstract
An object of the invention is to improve yarn feeding conditions to a knitting needle and improve a loop pressing function and a yarn holding function for end stitches in a flat knitting machine provided with a compound needle. In a top portionof a loop presseradvancing to a tooth mouth, a knitting yarn holding portion for end stitchesand a loop presser portionare formed. The knitting yarn holding portion for end stitcheshides a tonguefrom the yarnat a wall portionabove the knitting yarn holding portion for end stitchesso that the problem of yarn entanglement that the yarnfed to a hookof the compound needlefrom a yarn feeding portis surmounted on the tonguemay be solved. A pressing portionbelow the knitting yarn holding portion for end stitchespresses the yarn. The knitting yarn holding portion for end stitchesholds the yarnoutside the end stitch by winding it around it. The loop presser portionpresses the yarnduring the knitting. While hiding the tongueof the needleof the end stitch at the wall portion, the yarncan be guided into the hookreliably by causing the loop presser portionof another loop presserto act.
