Abstract
Less colored trans-1,3-dichloropropene and a process for producing it, are presented. A composition comprising cis-1,3-dichloropropene, trans-1,3-dichloropropene and Ccompounds, is subjected to a distillation step and to a step of reacting chlorine or bromine, to remove cis-1,3-dichloropropene as a low boiling component, and then the residue is distilled to remove the chlorinated Ccompounds as a high boiling component and to obtain trans-1,3-dichloropropene as a low boiling component.
