Abstract

Coil springsandcouple input and output rotary membersandtogether such that they can rotate relative to each other. The coil springsandhave a torsion characteristic having a positive region and a negative region that has a lower rigidity than the positive region. A second friction generating sectionis arranged such that friction is generated rotationally-between the input rotary memberand the output rotary memberdue to the elastic force of the coil springsandwhen the two rotary membersandrotate relative to each other. A friction suppressing mechanism secures rotational gapsandon only the negative side of the torsion characteristic. These rotational gaps serve to prevent the elastic force of the coil springsandfrom acting on the second friction generating sectionwithin a prescribed angular range.
