Abstract
A cable connector assembly () includes an insulative housing (), a number of contacts (), a number of wires (), and a cover (). The housing has a number of passageways () in a front portion (), and a number of posts () and blocks () on a rear portion (). Every two neighboring posts define a contact-receiving tunnel () therebetween. Each contact includes an insulation displacement portion () received in a corresponding contact-receiving tunnel. The insulation displacement portion includes a first wall (), a second wall (), and an intermediate section () connecting the opposite walls. The first and the second walls each define a slot (), and the slots align with each other. Each wire is received in the slots of a corresponding contact in the contact-receiving tunnel. The cover includes a plurality of latching arms () respectively engaging with the blocks of the housing.
