Abstract
A method and device for restarting a spinning operation at work stations () of an open-end spinning machine () after replacement of a cheese () with an empty tube by a traveling service unit () comprising an auxiliary yarn supply device (). Each work station comprises a yarn spinning device () and a cheese winding device () with a creel (). The auxiliary yarn supply device () delivers a starting portion of an auxiliary yarn () to a suction nozzle (), which transfers the auxiliary yarn () to a spinning start member (), after which the suction nozzle () pivots to re-take the auxiliary yarn () between the supply device () and the spinning start member () and removes the auxiliary yarn () after restarting the spinning operation, whereupon the yarn () is brought to the creel () of the work station ().
