Abstract

A code wheel () is rotatable with a vehicle steering wheel (). A magnet () mounted on a rotatable driven component () indicates the number of revolutions of the code wheel (). A sensing device () is provided to sense a flux field provided by the magnet (). The magnetic flux field varies relative to the sensing device () as the driven component () is rotated by the code wheel ().
