Abstract

A composition containing (i) at least one silicon-containing compound, (ii) at least one peroxidic free-radical initiator, and (iii) at least one conjugated hydrocarbon and/or at least one organofunctional silane of the general formula I:R—X—C(R)═C(R)—C(R)═C(R)—X—Si(R)(OR)  (I),may be used in the preparation of grafted and/or crosslinked polymers, or of filled plastics, in order to improve scorch performance. Processes for preparing polymers or preparing plastics, and polymers and plastics which are obtainable via the Sioplas process or via the Monosil process, and products produced from them can utilize the composition.
