Abstract
An electroluminescent device is formed of a pair of electrodes and an organic compound layer interposed between the electrodes. The organic compound layer is composed of an organic compound represented by the following general formula (1):wherein X is a substituted or unsubstituted arylene group or a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic group, each of at least two groups among Ar, Ar, Ar, and Aris a substituted or unsubstituted fluorenyl group, and the remainder represents a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group.
