Abstract

A blue-green colored glass composition includes a base portion, such as a conventional soda-lime-silica base, and major colorants. In one embodiment, the major colorants include 0.7 to 0.9 weight percent total iron (FeO), 0.2 to 0.3 weight percent FeO, and 0 to 5 ppm CoO. The glass is characterized by a dominant wavelength in the range of 490 nm to 495 nm and an excitation purity in the range of 3% to 11%. The glass of the invention can be essentially free of Se.
