Abstract
In an optical connector, an end face () of an optical fiber () is brought into contact with an end face of a mating connector in a predetermined direction () to achieve connection. The optical connector includes a housing () provided with an aligning portion () having a hole () for insertion of the optical fiber, and a holding portion () for holding the optical fiber. The holding portion () is movable in the predetermined direction. The holding portion is fixed to the housing with the optical fiber inserted into the hole in the aligning portion and serves to adjust the amount of protrusion of the optical fiber from an end face () of the aligning portion. The housing is provided with a guide portion () for guiding the optical fiber to the hole in the aligning portion.
