Abstract

A process for the preparation of 4-(3-chlorophenyl)-6-[(4-chlorophenyl)hydroxy(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-5-yl)methyl]-1-methyl-2(1H)-quinolinone which comprises reacting 6-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-4-(3-chlorophenyl)-1-methyl-2(1H)-quinolinone with a Calkyllithium compound, 1-methylimidazole and a tri(Calkyl)silyl halide to obtain better yields of the above product.
