Abstract
The invention relates to a method for activating one (A) of the applications (A-A) of an on-board or embedded system, particularly of a chip card () connected to a terminal () equipped with a reader, by means of a 'web' browser. The terminal () and the chip card () each comprise, in addition to the conventional protocol layers () corresponding to the ISO 7816 standards, a specific layer (). The latter comprises intelligent agents () for establishing two-way data exchange sessions, enabling the chip card () to offer a 'web' server functionality. In addition, the chip card () comprises intelligent agents (ATS-ATS) called script translators that interact with the applications (A-A), making it possible to activate a selected application (A) using conventional commands corresponding to the ISO 7816 standards. In a variant of embodiment, provisions are made for a dynamic updating of the chip card (), particularly from the browser. The invention also relates to the corresponding on-board system.
