Abstract

A method of elongating a tube () by way of a drawing ring (), wherein, when elongating the tube (), tensile forces are applied to an elongated tube portion () which has already passed through the effective drawing ring cross-section and that pressure forces are applied to a tube blank portion () which has not yet passed through the effective drawing ring cross-section, wherein the tensile forces are applied by a mandrel () which is positioned in the tube and which is connected to a front tube end in a form-fitting or force-locking way.
