Abstract

A keeper () for use in a casement window assembly (). The keeper () comprises a first portion (), an intermediate portion (), a second portion (), and a slot (). The first portion () has at least one aperture () adapted to receive a fastener. The first portion () also has a mounting surface () adapted to engage a portion of the casement window assembly (). The intermediate portion () extends generally perpendicular from the first portion (). The intermediate portion () has a rib () that increases the strength of the keeper () positioned adjacent an extent of the first portion (). The second portion () extends from the intermediate portion () and has a finger () adapted to slidingly engage a pin () of the casement window assembly (). The slot () is generally defined by the rib () and the finger () and is adapted to receive the pin () to secure the casement window assembly () in a locked position.
