Abstract

A system for carrying out the automated processing of fluids. The system has combinable and interchangeable process modules ( ), which each contain a control unit ( ) and a fluid unit ( ) that can be controlled by the control unit in order to execute a module-specific process function. The control units ( ) are interconnected via a data bus ( ) which is shared by process modules ( ), and the fluid units ( ) are interconnected via a fluid bus ( ) having a number of channels ( ).
