Abstract

A method and system are provided for the creation and use of custom-configured, database-backed, remotely accessible applications. Users of client devices ( ) access an application generator server ( ) via a network ( ), providing configuration for a requested application. Through direct communication with the server ( ), off-line use of an application or script, or by following a server-generated link, remote users execute the application subject to data type, formatting, and display characteristics and/or constraints provided in the application configuration information. Other applications hosted on the client device, server, or on another server (in communication with the application generator server) can exchange data with the generated application.
