Abstract

A wooden beam ( ) has several sections which are subjected to a transversal tension and which affect in particular the areas in which there are recesses or openings ( ). Rod-shaped elements are provided in the form of screws ( ) which are introduced in such a way that they extend crosswise to the longitudinal direction of the beam ( ) in order to absorb this transversal tension. These screws are screwed in from the top side ( ) or the underside ( ) of the beam ( ) and each extend over part of the height (H) of the beam ( ) only and are therefore directly associated with the area ( ) that is subjected to transversal tension.
