Abstract
A red-emitting phosphor blend is provided which comprises a mixture of a first red-emitting phosphor having a general formula of (Y Gd Eu ) O wherein 0≦x≦0.9 and 0.02≦y≦0.4 and a second red-emitting phosphor having a general formula of (Y Gd EU ) BO wherein 0≦a≦1 and 0.02≦b≦0.1, the second red-emitting phosphor comprising from 10 to 40% by weight of the blend.
