Abstract
A bubble formed in the wall of a plastic container having, an interior surface , an exterior surface and a wall thickness and being suitable for containing a liquid under pressure e.g., a carbonated beverage, including an integral structure formed of a central dome having a convex outer surface facing toward the adjacent exterior surface and connected with an annular trough having an annular concave surface facing the adjacent the exterior surface , a frustum interconnecting the trough with the dome or an outer ring of curved cross-section, the outer ring having an annular concave surface facing toward the interior , integrally formed with the container wall surrounding the bubble, the bubble having a thickness approximately equal to the wall thickness. An associated container, blow mold and method are also included.
