Abstract
An arrayed waveguide grating is shown, which comprises at least one input waveguide a plurality of output waveguides at least one wavelength compensation output waveguide disposed adjacent to the output waveguide a channel waveguide array an input side slab-waveguide and an output side slab-waveguide The wavelength compensation output waveguide has a tapering connecting portion connected to the output side slab-waveguide Thus, the outputted light has a sharp spectrum, thus permitting ready wavelength compensation.
