Abstract
A small vehicle has an engine mounted to a frame assembly. The engine is mounted by a plurality of engine mounts. The engine mounts are seven times stiffer in compression and tension than in shear. The engine mounts have a block of resilient material that separates a pair of plates. The block can be any shape but a rectangular parallelepiped is preferred. The engine mounts are mounted on cylinders defined with a center axis that extends through a center of gravity of the engine in a direction parallel to an axis about which the crankshaft rotates.
