Abstract
This invention provides a foldable portable telephone which comprises a main body case provided with manual keys , and a closure case connected to the main body case by a hinge mechanism for covering the manual keys , and which is adapted to detect electrically the closure case in its opened state or closed state relative to the main body case . The main body case and the closure case are respectively provided with barrel portions being aligned coaxially with an axis of rotation of the hinge mechanism. Opposed faces of the two barrel portions are respectively provided with contact pieces . The two pieces are in contact with/away from each other corresponding to opening or closing the closure case , to detect electrically opened or closed state of the closure case
