Abstract
An apparatus to automatically raise and lower a planar member, particularly a seat, that includes a number of pivotally connected support members, all attached directly or indirectly to a base member, one of the support members being mechanically actuable, vertically extending, and vertically extendable. The seat or planar member has a range of motion that is restricted to the middle portion of the base member, the base member having a portion extending forwardly therefrom.
