A device for firearms ( ) and a firearm ( ) having this device are disclosed. The device is used for detecting a state in the space ( ) and for transmitting a signal correlated to the state. The device has a sensor region ( ) for detecting the state and a conductor arrangement ( ), connected to the sensor region ( ) for transmitting the signal. The sensor region ( ) and the conductor arrangement ( ) are formed by a fiber-optic system ( ).
