Abstract

The present invention provides methods of producing a pro-N-acetylglucosamine-1-phosphodiester &agr; N-acetyl glucosimanidase (phosphodiester &agr;-GlcNAcase), in mammalian cells deficient in the furin proteolytic enzyme and methods of making lysosomal hydrolases having an N-acetylglucosamine-1-phosphate.
