Abstract
A liquid crystal device has a configuration including substrates and bonded to each other with a sealant and a liquid crystal enclosed in the gap therebetween. Common electrodes are provided on the inner face of the substrate , whereas an underlying film , a reflective film composed of a silver alloy, a protective film covering the reflective film , and segment electrodes are provided on the inner face of the backside substrate . Since the protective film suppresses the crystal grain growth of the reflective film at a high-temperature treatment, a decrease in reflectance is avoided. A lead comprises a laminate of a reflective conductive film having a crystal grain size which is larger than that of the reflective film and a transparent conductive film which is formed by patterning the same layer as the segment electrode
