Abstract
An optical component comprises a holder formed as a generally elongate tubular member which, at one end, houses a lens and, at the other end, houses an optical fiber . The optical fiber is fixed within an elongate tubular ferrule . The optical component further includes three adjustment screws which can engage the front of the ferrule . The adjustment screws can be used to adjust the radial positioning of the end of the optical fiber and to tilt the ferrule (and thus the fiber ) with respect to the holder about a pivot point defined by a neck in the holder
