Abstract
Active alumina catalysts, well suited for the Claus reaction, for the hydrolysis of organosulfur compounds and for catalytically removing objectionable sulfur compounds from gaseous effluents comprised thereof, contain a cocatalytically effective amount of sodium values, such effective amount, expressed by weight of Na O, ranging from 1,200 ppm to 2,700 ppm.
