Abstract
A toner for developing an electrostatic image, comprising toner particles each containing at least a colorant and a resin, and an external additive present on each of the toner particles, wherein the water wettability of said toner particles without the external additive is W , wherein the water wettability of the toner is W , and wherein (W −W )/W is not greater than 0.3.
