Abstract

A long retracting sootblower device for conducting different cleaning media types to the interior of a heat exchanger having a lance tube assembly ( ), a feed tube, a carriage assembly ( ), a first cleaning media supply, and a second cleaning media supply. The lance tube assembly includes a manifold ( ), a hub ( ) mounted to the manifold ( ), a tube section ( ) extending outward from the hub ( ), and a nozzle assembly ( ). The nozzle assembly includes nozzles ( ) adapted for directing a stream of cleaning media. The manifold ( ) includes at least one cylindrical tube ( ) with first and second ends, the first end ( ) being permanently mounted to the manifold ( ), and the second end ( ) engaging the nozzle assembly ( ). The manifold ( ) and cylindrical tube ( ) define a first high pressure passage for conducting cleaning media from the first cleaning media supply to the nozzle assembly ( ). The manifold ( ) also includes a shield assembly ( ) for supporting the cylindrical tube ( ) within the lance tube assembly ( ).
