Abstract
There is disclosed a power supply apparatus which can reduce consumption power while an electronic device such as a printing apparatus or the like is not in use irrespective of the scale of a control circuit of that device. Such unit supplies electric power from a battery to detect an ON instruction of a power switch even after an OFF instruction to the power switch is detected, so as to detect the ON/OFF instruction to the power switch which is used for controlling electric power supply from a power supply circuit to a print controller of the printing apparatus, and controls to stop power supply from the power supply unit to the print controller upon detecting an OFF instruction to the power switch
