Abstract
A method of identifying a part with a storage location including the steps of transmitting identification information for the part and the storage location to a support system, supplying power to the remote device, transmitting a code sequence, associated with the transmitted identification information, from the support system to the remote device, wherein the code sequence is a random code whose sequence is changed to a different code sequence when power is removed from the remote device and notifying an operator externally when attempting to locate the storage location.
